Frosty Nights Expected in New Douglas Thru Thursday

If you have plants that have budded or flowered, they will need protection through this Thursday as we are expecting some frosty temperatures at night or early morning this week. You can use fabric, plastic, tarps, frost cloth, or garbage bags to cover your plants. Just make sure you weigh the cover down as we are expecting windy conditions and then pull them back during the day to allow the plants to get some sun. By Friday, April 8th we should have seen our last frosty night, according to the weather service but I am going to check each day anyway as all the blueberries, the greens in the garden, and the raspberries are flowering or growing prolifically right now. Protect those fragile new plants to have some good food on the table after the frost leaves us for this spring.
